Dublin News: 9/16

COSTUME SWAP is coming up! Originally we said it would be today but that didn’t give you much time to dig out all those old costumes. Take time this week to get in your attic or down in your basement to pull out all your old costumes. Just like a uniform swap, we’re going to have a Costume Swap. We’ll have everything set up next Monday, September 23rd, for you to go through. So far I have a flamingo and a bunny, what else can you bring in?

MOMS’ PRAYER GROUP is meeting next Monday, September 23rd, right after drop off from about 9:20-10:20 a.m. We’d love to some new faces join the group. Thanks for praying for our students and staff!

When talking about the importance of obeying God’s Word and not just listening to it,  the Bible says, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what is says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in the mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it – he will be blessed in what he does” James 1:22-25

This is great advice for being corrected by God’s Word, but it’s also helpful for parents when correcting their children. Practice doing the right thing to see that change is truly taking place. Kids often need help to grow and change. Correction is just one of the tools God gave to help us learn in life. Require positive action to demonstrate change, and children will mature faster and learn more healthy responses. The Christian Parenting Handbook by Dr.Scott Turansky.
